Hi! I'm Dr. James Ritter, Doctor of Dental Surgery

Learn more about me!

James Ritter grew up in Texas, met his wife Julie in Austin and started his family in 2000. Since then, they’ve lived in Southern California and Tennessee prior to relocating to North Dakota in April of 2025. When he’s not working, he loves to spend time with his family doing all sorts of fun activities his better half recommends they do! He pretends to be a golfer, likes getting on the river in a kayak, and hiking to places where a hammock can be used.

His best accomplishments in life are his marriage and his children. He’s been with Julie since 1998 and she completes his world. They have two boys (now Men) in Seth (24) and Logan (20). Seth is pursuing a master’s in nursing while Logan is serving the fine folks in St. George, Utah while helping his grandmother. They’re awesome dudes! Seth and his wife Ally made them grandparents this year and they’re trying to embrace the reality that comes along with it. (Dr. Ritter still feels young despite the growing evidence to the contrary). Second to his family he completed his undergraduate at California State University of San Marcos and completed dental school at UTHSC in Memphis.

Dr. Ritter wants to make you smile and laugh. He enjoys all aspects of general dentistry outside of braces or root canals (he’s not your dentist for those) and has strong skillsets in full mouth rehabilitations. He wants your smile to be top notch, and his primary concern is making the mouth functional as he believes that sometimes great food is what your soul needs to keep going until tomorrow (next to Jesus of course!) The staff may warn you that he can become too chatty if you start asking about the science behind dental implants, bone grafting, or music genres. There have been impromptu discounts offered to patients “If you can name this song/artist/album”. Be fairly warned.

Hi! I'm Mya Elkin, Dental Hygienist

Learn more about me!

I’m Mya, a dental hygienist. I first started my career in dentistry by attending dental assisting school in Moorhead, MN and worked as a dental assistant for a year before moving to Great Falls, MT to obtain my degree in dental hygiene. I graduated in 2024 and have been loving my role as an RDH ever since.

I was raised in Dickinson and am very happy to return to work and live in my hometown. My fiancé and I have a one-year-old Bernese mountain dog, JoJo, and we love spending our free time outdoors with her!

I look forward to helping patients feel comfortable and confident about their smiles and very much look forward to seeing you.
